Conference fee
Conference ticket: 35€ (Registration required!)
The conference tickets includes:
- Access to all conference events, including (most) social events
- Basic accommodation
- Catering during the day (no dinner)
Not included in the conference ticket:
- Participation at the farewell brunch
Scholarships and financial support
Once again, there are scholarships available to facilitate participation in StuTS. Important: Scholarship registration by April 8, notification of acceptance by April 13!
The Association for Young Linguists (Verein Junge Sprachwissenschaft e.V.) (5 scholarships à €60), the Rectorate of the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz (5 scholarships à €75) and the Deanery of Humanities of the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz (5 scholarships à €75) are offering scholarships for students giving a presentation. The following criteria increase the likelihood of receiving the scholarship:
- First-time participation in StuTS
- Quality of your abstract
- No financial support from your university
- Distance traveled
- Disability

Information for students of Austrian universities
As we want to grow the Austrian StuTS community, the organizing team of the StuTS in Graz will waive the conference fee for three students of Austrian universities. The applicants must submit an abstract and should not have been to previous StuTS conferences.
We also offer a bring-a-friend discount for the same group of people (student at Austrian university, submission of an abstract, StuTS newbie). The first three people who meet the criteria to apply for the bring-a-friend discount will get a 50% discount on the conference fee. If you apply for this discount, you must name one friend of yours in the “Your friend’s name” field below. Your friend doesn’t have to submit an abstract, but has to attend the StuTS in Graz. Your friend will also get a 50% discount. If you only apply for this discount, you don’t have to fill out the text field about your motivation.

Accommodation
Important information! There are several options of accommodation available:
Student dormitory: 3 participants can be accommodated in the guest room of a student dormitory. Breakfast is not provided , but the dormitory is located near the university. The cost of accommodation will be covered by us .
Hostel : In total, we have reserved 120 sleeping spots at the a&o hostel at Graz Main Train Station (including breakfast). The reserved multi-bed rooms each have 4 to 8 beds, and include a shower and toilet. The cost of accommodation will be covered by us. Currently, all sleeping spots are taken . However, since some haven't paid yet, you can still register for a spot on the waiting list . We kindly request those who haven't paid yet to promptly transfer the conference fee. If we don't receive payment confirmation by at the latest April 15th, your sleeping spot will be allocated to another person. The sleeping spots are assigned to the first 133 individuals who have paid the conference fee on time. If you register today (after 15:45) or tomorrow, we'll notify you by April 16th at the latest whether you've secured a sleeping spot. (Information from April 13, 2024)
Information about the hostel: The a&o near the main train station in Graz is a bit farther from the university but is easily accessible by public transportation. It is likely the most affordable accommodation in Graz. There are also some accessible rooms. Please contact us if needed. The rooms will be dormitory-style and there are also female-only rooms. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences when assigning rooms.
Couch-Surfing: Additionally, we can offer you 10 sleeping spots at private residences (as of April 13, 2024).
We will try to organize as many accommodation options for you as possible and keep you updated. The registration will be open until April 14, 2024.
Catering/Food
There will be at least one vegan lunch on Thursday, May 9 (the holiday). Therefore, we kindly ask you to bring your own dishes and cutlery. If you have any other dietary restrictions, please indicate them when registering!
If our budget allows, we will organize catering a second time. However, we cannot promise anything yet.
Additionally, you will receive vouchers from local restaurants in Graz so you can have a meal on your own.
On Sunday, May 12, the closing brunch will take place. You have to pay for the brunch by yourself. Please indicate when registering if you would like to participate.
